There's no such thing as thinking small or big.
But there is such a thing as acting different.
If you ask our customers to describe us in a word, they would invariably settle down on ‘Enthusiastic’. (Some say it’s the chocolate that makes us so!) But then we really truly don’t like to get caught in routine. And we have found out ways to do just that. Here are some glimpses of what we have been up to lately.
Tiny minds from Kangaroo School get all chocolatey at Murthy’s
On a nice and pleasant Wednesday morning in February 2007, 25 little feet stepped out of their school bus in a disciplined line and walked into our chocolate manufacturing unit. One of the many visits we initiate for school children, the objective was, of course, more than filling their little mouths with yummy cakes and lip-smacking snacks. It was to show them, step by step, how chocolates, cakes and biscuits are actually made. |

Listening with rapt attention to every detail, at the end of the 2-hour visit, the smallies had a truckload of questions, most of them innocent and amusing. One boy, for instance, seriously inquired if he could come to work at the bakery every day after school got over! Others were more to the point, as one pony-tailed girl demanded that we call her Mom then and there, and instruct her on how to make a chocolate cake. “Could we have your big oven on my birthday?” She asked us later. |
| After the question-answers session, the kids enjoyed a scrumptious treat of their favourites among our products. We hear a few of them have been pestering their Moms to make chocolates as we make them at Murthy’s. Well, we can’t help that, can we?! |

Students from Indira Institute of Management visit Murthy's Confectionaries
As a part of a project to visit niche food manufacturers in Pune, a team of students from the Indira Institute of Management visited our manufacturing unit. Mr. Vikram Murthy, our Acting Head personally received them, and discussed on a wide range of topics from vital quality control techniques in food manufacturing, management of local and nationwide distribution network, food logistics, management of retail outlets, product promotions and issues in small scale and mid-scale entrepreneurship. |
