| 70 years ago, we began our business at 399, Padmasunder Niwas, Pune, as vendors of both traditional sweetmeats and confectionary products including cakes and chocolate. We still function from this quiet area near the Pune Railway Station. But things are considerably different.
It’s incredible that what is today a 3-storied modern workplace with very high-end chocolate, biscuit, and cake manufacturing equipment was, back then a simple sheet type structure. But quality food has a way to stay in hearts on the way to the stomach.
Over the years, as Pune gradually transformed from a pensioners’ paradise to a city bubbling with business and urbanities, we at Murthy’s Confectionary were quietly introducing and perfecting confectionary production processes in the steaming environs of our growing kitchens. |
